It measures 33 cm long and wide and weighs less than 100 kg, yet the Super Mega Bot mobile robot boasts a towing capacity worthy of a draught horse. Thanks to its 4 drive wheels connected to their high-torque electric motors, Super Mega Bot can tow up to 1.3 tones! It has a payload of more than 113 kg, all with the additional ability to weave through a crowd thanks to its zero turning radius.
Its steel and aluminum chassis gives it all the resistance it needs for outdoor activities, even when it reaches its maximum speed of 24 km/h. Needless to say, its total autonomy is not easily calculated, it all depends on the load transported and its sprints.
A scalable outdoor mobile robot
Like the other models in the large Minibot range, the Super Mega Bot is a scalable robot and there are various upgrades available. You can for example get a water-resistant shell or change its tyres to alter its characteristics. Its super-simple invertible chassis also means robotics engineers can use it as a base for more complex projects. So you can equip it with a video camera, a laser range finder or a presence detector module, to transform this robot into the most efficient of security guards.
